We know how much the cost of medical treatment has gone up in the present time and on top of that, the patient has to spend a lot of money out of his pocket due to various diagnostic checkups, tests, etc. for that To save the poor people of the state from spending extra money on such health checkups the Gujarat state government has launched this Nidan Yojana, through which the Gujarat state government has provided the arrangement of Free diagnostic tests facilities to all government health centers in the state

To provide free medical tests and diagnostic services to patients, the Gujarat State Government (Department of Health and Family Welfare) has launched Mukhyamantri Nidan Yojana in Gujarat. The main objective of the scheme is to provide free quality medical tests and diagnostics in 9,156 sub-health centers, 1,342 primary health centers, 331 community health centers, 33 sub-district or 22 district hospitals, and 16 medical colleges in the state, which includes free medical tests like blood tests, urine tests, blood group tests, kidney, jaundice, diabetes test Typhoid test, etc. Most of the tests are available at government health centers and no patient needs to go to a private laboratory for the test. In this project, government health centers and hospitals will gradually start conducting all kinds of tests and checkups. The government aims to achieve ‘Health for All’ and provide them with quality health care. The government has taken this initiative as it aims to make people health-conscious and start treatment for any disease detected by these diagnostic tests at an early stage.

Objective Of This Scheme

  • Ensuring that patients do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses for various diagnostic tests and diagnostic tests
  • Identifying the disease in its early stage and arranging its treatment
  • To provide quality healthcare to the residents of the state

Eligibility Criteria

  • only the people living in Gujarat (residential) state will be able to get the benefits of the scheme
  • The scheme will be applicable to both rural and urban areas
  • The benefit of this scheme is available only from any government hospital or health care center
  •  Though no income-related eligibility criterion has been mentioned, the state government has implemented it especially for lifting the burden of medical test-related costs from the shoulders of poor and backward people

Benefits

All kinds of pathological tests facilities will be provided to the people of the Gujrat state at the government hospitals or health care centers at free of cost

  • Blood test
  • Urine test
  • Blood group determination
  • Kidney Examinations
  • Jaundice Tests
  • Diabetes-Related Tests
  • Typhoid tests and others

Laboratory Facility Available in Centers

In order to provide medical tests and diagnostic facilities to the people about 9,156 sub-health centers, 1,342 primary health centers, 331 community health centers, 33 sub-districts, 22 district hospitals, and 16 medical colleges are selected under this scheme. It has been highlighted that the implementation of the scheme will be done in all parts of the state at the same time. It will provide the best benefits to the people who need it most.

Required Documents

The patient has to provide the following documents while applying for the scheme

  • Residential certificate
  • aadhaar card
  • patient’s prescription
  • and other documents

How To Apply

  1. For acquiring the advantages of the scheme, the patients will have to go to any of the government healthcare centers,
  2. Then they will have to consult the doctor there or show the prescription that has the list of tests that need to be done.
  3. The authority will take the necessary steps to conduct the pathological tests. Once the reports arrive, the patient or the patient party will be given them free of cost.
