Every year many people in our country died or became disabled due to accidents, if the accident victim is the main breadwinner of his family then his family faces huge financial problems, and their entire way of life changed completely. They can’t fulfill the basic necessities of life starting from their children’s education to the general needs of their house, so they have been left behind in this society. Therefore, considering the families of these accidental dead/disabled persons, the Haryana State government has launched a new Scheme called Rajiv Gandhi Pariwar Bima Yojana. The scheme will provide financial assistance to those families who have lost their main breadwinner Or have been disabled due to accident so that those family can meet all their household expenses and fulfill their necessities.

At present, the project has been renamed as Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Accident Assistance

Objective Of This Scheme

  • Taking responsibility of those families, whose main breadwinner has died in accident
  • To provide financial assistance to the family of the deceased/disabled person due to accident so that they do not face financial difficulties.
  • Providing insurance cover to the families of poor and unorganized workers in the state
  • To make arrangements for better life of those families

Eligibility Criteria

  • applicant’s family must be a permanent residential family in Haryana state
  • The deceased/disabled member should be aged between 18 completed years and 70 years.
  • applicant families’ income must be lower than Rs 2,50,00 per year
  • A person must not be enrolled at the time of the accident under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY)
  • Government employees could not get any benefits from this scheme
  • The decision as to the eligibility of the member for enrolment into the scheme is fully vested with the Nodal Agency.
