Government of India is implementing Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM) through States/UTs for development and promotion of AYUSH system of medicine including Homoeopathy.

Under NAM, Grant-in-aid is being provided to State/UTs Governments for development and promotion of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) as per their proposed State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs). Specific resource pool with respect to NAM for each State/UTs Government is allocated and communicated by the Central Government. Accordingly, the State/UT Governments submit their State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) to the Ministry as per their felt need in accordance with NAM guidelines. Since NAM is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme and implementation of the programme comes under the purview of respective States/UT Government, no specific targets have been fixed by Government of India in the States/UTs.

The basic objective of NAM is to promote AYUSH medical systems through cost effective AYUSH services, strengthening of educational systems, facilitate the enforcement of quality control of Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani & Homoeopathy (ASU &H) drugs and sustainable availability of ASU & H raw-materials.

Receipts under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of The National Ayush Mission (NAM) up to (31.03.2021):-

(1) A total of 104 to 50-bed integrated AYUSH hospitals have been supported in various States/UTs.

(2) A total of 296 AYUSH hospitals and 4717 AYUSH dispensaries have been supported for upgradation of infrastructure and other facilities.

(3) A total of 2878 PHCs, 840 CHCs, and 350 DHKs have been supported each year under co-location for drug recurrence assistance and panic.

(4) 1965 Yoga Wellness Centre and 512 AYUSH village units are supported.

(5) Grants have been provided for the establishment of 11 new AYUSH educational institutions.

(6) A total of 72 undergraduate and 33 postgraduate, AYUSH educational institutions have been supported for upgradation of infrastructure, libraries and other things.

(7) 36 ASU and H pharmacies and 29 drug testing laboratories have been supported to strengthen.
