about the West Bengal Pre Matric Scholarship
West Bengal Pre Matric Scholarship is a scholarship given by the West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation under the Department of Minority Affairs and Madrasa Education, Government of West Bengal which provides financial assistance to minority students from West Bengal studying from classes 1 to 10. The scholarship aims to encourage people from minority communities to send their children to school and prevent drop-out cases. Selected meritorious students will be able to get maintenance allowance and other benefits.

Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must –
- be a domicile of West Bengal
- belong to the minority section of West Bengal
- be studying Class 1 to 10 in a School/Institution recognized by an educational Board/University of the State/Central Government
- have secured at least 50% marks or equivalent in the previous examination
- have a family income of less than INR 2 lakh per annum
- The students pursuing courses through distance mode are not eligible.
- The students can avail scholarships from any one source only.
Note – The students pursuing their studies outside West Bengal are not eligible for this scholarship.

The selected candidates will receive the awards in the following way –
Class 1 to 5 Students –
- Maintenance Allowance – INR 1,100 (for day scholars)
Class 6 to 10 Students (For Day Scholars) –
- Admission fee & tuition fee – INR 4,400
- Maintenance Allowance – INR 1,100
Class 6 to 10 students (For Hostellers)
- Admission fee & tuition fee – INR 4,400
- Maintenance Allowance – INR 6,600
Payment of Scholarship:
Students are required to have their bank accounts opened, especially, in their names for availing of the benefits under the scheme. The scholarship will be disbursed directly into the savings bank accounts of the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.

- now you need to Click on ‘Apply Online,
- AFTER THAT navigate to ‘Student’s Area’ and click on ‘fresh Registration. as shown in the image below
- now, select the district where the applicant’s institute is situated and click on ‘Proceed’.
- Fill in the required details under the ‘Student Information‘ and ‘Scheme Eligibility’ sections and Register.
- After successful registration, log in using the registered user ID and password.
- Fill in the application form, upload the relevant documents and submit.
