About NTSE Examination

The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), is a scholarship exam conducted annually by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) at the national level to improve students’ aptitude, logical reasoning identification, and mental ability.

The All India Competitive Examination has conducted annually for class 10 students in two phases – Phase 1 (State-Level) and Phase 2 (National Level). If a candidate wants to be eligible for the scholarship, he has to pass both exams.

  •  identifying talented students who want to pursue higher education in the Science and Social Studies streams

NTSE Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for Regular Student

  • Currently, a candidate should be studying 10th standard from any government/private school located in India
  • The candidate must be below 18 years as of July 1, 2022 (For 2022).

NTSE Eligibility Criteria For Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Students

Students pursuing their 10th from open or distance learning can also attempt NTSE under these conditions:

  • The candidate must be under 18 as of July 1, 2022.
  • The candidate should be a full-time student without any kind of employment.
  • The candidate should be appearing for the class 10th examination for the first time.

NTSE Eligibility Criteria For Students Studying Abroad

Indian residents who are studying abroad can also attempt the NTSE exam under these conditions:

  • The student must be an Indian National.
  • If the candidate is pursuing class 10th or equivalent, then he/she is directly eligible for Stage 2.
  • The candidate should have scored a minimum of 60% in class IX final exams.
  • The candidate must opt for an examination center located in India.
  • Must make a request with the institution he/she is studying at along with the attested class IX mark sheet at the Department of Educational Survey Division, NCERT.
  • The candidate is eligible for the scholarship only if he/she continues his/her further studies from India.

NTSE Cutoff Last Year (2022)

The cutoff is the minimum marks a candidate needs to score in order to qualify for the NTSE stage 2. Those who achieve the NTSE cutoff for stage 1 shall find their name on the merit list.

  1. Visit the official website of NTSE.
  2. Click on the link ‘Apply for NTSE 2023’.
  3. Fill in the following details like your Name, Date of birth, Mobile Number, Email ID, Educational Qualification, etc.
  4. After filling in all the credentials click on ‘submit’
  5. Download the NTSE Application Form

This scholarship application will start in 2024, no application process has been published yet from the official website NCERT about the scholarship application process, we will update the application process as soon as this scholarship application starts.
