About Jharkhand Free Mobile Phone Scheme
The Jharkhand government has launched a new scheme for farmers in the state. The name of this Scheme is Jharkhand Free Mobile Phone Scheme. Under this Scheme, the state government will provide free smartphones to 26 lakh farmers as Diwali gifts. Through this project, all the farmers in the state will be able to connect with the e-NAM portal and sell their crops directly with the help of this portal.
The Jharkhand government wants to make the farmers brand ambassadors at the Agriculture and Food Summit held on 29 and 30 November 2018. The objective of the government is to ensure the overall development of the farmers in the field of agriculture. The government is trying to give farmers a fair price for their crops. The state government will provide mobile phones to 26 lakh farmers to digitally connect agricultural markets across the country. Through these smartphones, the state government will be able to transfer the latest agriculture and other technologies among the farmers and also farmers in the state will be able to connect with the e-NAM portal, an online trading platform for agricultural products in India.

- The project will be only available for farmers of Jharkhand and will covered 2.7 million farmers in the state.
