About The ICMR Scholarship
If you have a Ph.D., MD, or MS degree and are passionate about research, you might be interested in the ICMR Centenary-Post Doctoral Research Fellowship (ICMR-PDF) Scheme. This program offers fifty fellowships every year, each lasting for two years (extendable for an additional year based on outstanding performance). As a fellow, you will work in one of the ICMR Institutes/Centers and have access to state-of-the-art R&D facilities. The Director General, ICMR, allocates these fellowships based on the needs of the respective institute/center. The program covers a wide range of research areas, including basic science, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and reproductive health.

Eligibility criteria
- Indian nationals with a fresh Ph.D./MD/MS degree within three years of completion are eligible.
- The proposed research work should be a continuation of Ph.D. or MD/MS research.
- Maximum age limit: 32 years (relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/PH and women candidates).
- For deserving candidates, age can be relaxed up to a maximum of 3 years based on earlier work, publications, awards, etc.
Selection Procedure
- A Selection Committee, constituted by DG, ICMR, will interview short-listed candidates based on their publications, citations, and impact factors.
- The interviews will take place at ICMR HQ. New Delhi.
- Eligible candidates must route their applications through sponsoring ICMR Institutes/Centers.
- Applicants from abroad may be considered in absentia, subject to eligibility and suitability as determined by the Committee.
