About The Scholarship

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) is introducing the Indirect Tax Internship Scheme for law students and recent graduates. This initiative provides an excellent opportunity to gain insights into the world of indirect taxes. The program offers an opportunity to learn about various aspects of indirect taxes, including Customs and GST.


Objectives of this scholarships

Eligibility criteria

  • Law students in the 2nd year of a 3-year LLB course/5-year integrated LLB course.
  • Law graduates who have completed a 3-year LLB course/5-year integrated LLB course within two years.
  • Students who have appeared in the final year/semester examination on the cutoff date.

Scholarship Amounts & benefits

Financial Stipend:

  • Law students: ₹5,000 per month for a 1-2 month internship.
  • Law graduates: ₹15,000 per month for up to 6 months.

Professional Exposure:

  • Interns will work in different sections of CBIC’s legal establishment, gaining exposure to real-world scenarios.

Certificate of Internship:

  • A certificate will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of the internship.

Required Documents

  • Attach a passport-sized photograph.
  • Include Aadhaar card details.
  • Provide proof of address.
  • Submit proof of educational qualification.
  • Include any other relevant documents.

  • Download the application form.
  • Fill in the details and attach the necessary documents.
  • Submit your application via email to dlasmc-cbic@gov.in by the specified deadline.

Internship Details

  • Location: The internship will take place in Delhi, with interns deployed in different sections of CBIC’s legal establishment.
  • Duration: For law students, the internship is 1 to 2 months, extendable up to 3 months. Law graduates can intern for up to 6 months, extendable to 12 months.
  • Leaves: Maximum 2 days of leave per month, with exceptions granted in special circumstances.
  • Attendance: A minimum of 90% attendance is mandatory.
  • Important Notice: The internship is full-time, and interns are not expected to pursue any other course/work during the tenure.
