To address this issue, the government of India launched the Har Ghar Nal Yojana. The scheme aims to provide piped water supply to every household in the country by 2024. How to Apply

Steps to Apply for Har Ghar Nal Yojana

  1. Go to the official website of Jal Jeevan Mission.
  2. Click on the “Apply Now” option on the home page.
  3. Fill in the required information such as your name, mobile number, email ID etc.
  4. Upload all the important documents such as Aadhaar Card, residence certificate, income certificate, age certificate, passport-size photograph etc.
  5. Click on the “Submit” option.

Check your state’s status:

  • Visit the JJM Dashboard: https://ejalshakti.gov.in/jjmreport/JJMIndia.aspx
  • Check the “Har Ghar Nal Reported States/ UTs” and “Har Ghar Nal Certified States/ UTs” sections.
    • If your state is “Certified”, it means all households have been provided with tap connections, and individual applications are likely not accepted anymore.
    • If your state is “Reported”, it means the scheme is ongoing, and you might be able to apply.

2. Apply if your state is “Reported”:

Option 1: Online Application (if available)

  • Some states offer online applications through their JJM portal or other designated websites. Check your state’s official JJM website or contact local authorities for specific instructions and links.
  • The online application usually requires basic information like name, address, Aadhaar card details, mobile number, and may ask for documents like proof of residence and income certificate.

Option 2: Contact Local Authorities

  • If online applications are not available, contact your local Gram Panchayat, Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC), or any other designated authority responsible for JJM implementation in your village.
  • They will guide you on the application process, eligibility criteria, and required documents.
