About Himcare Yojana
The government of Himachal Pradesh has launched a new health scheme called Him Care Yojana for its citizens. The scheme was introduced on January 1, 2019, and offers health insurance coverage of up to ₹500,000 for a family of up to five members. If there are more than five members in a family, they will be enrolled separately. The scheme is designed for those who are not eligible for the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which is only available to citizens listed in the SECC-2011. Him Care Yojana aims to provide better healthcare facilities and treatment options for those in need, particularly those with a weak economic background.

Eligibility Criteria for Himachal Pradesh Him Care Scheme
Category I:
- BPL Families (Not covered under Ayushman Bharat): Individuals and families below the poverty line (BPL) who are not covered under Ayushman Bharat are eligible.
- Registered Street Vendors (Not covered under Ayushman Bharat): Street vendors who are formally registered but not covered under Ayushman Bharat can apply.
- MNREGA Workers: MNREGA workers who have worked a minimum of 50 days under the scheme during the previous or current financial year are eligible.
- Senior Citizens: Citizens above 70 years of age, regardless of income status, can avail HIMCARE benefits.
- Children in Orphanages: Children residing in orphanages are automatically eligible for the scheme.
Category II:
- Ekal Naaris: Women who are widowed, divorced, legally separated, or unmarried and above 40 years of age fall under this category.
Category III:
- Other Individuals: Individuals who do not fall under Category I or II, and are not government servants, pensioners, or their dependent family members, can apply under this category.

How to Apply
Steps to Apply for Him Care Scheme:
Online:
- Visit the official website of the Himachal Pradesh Swasthya Bima Yojana Society
- Click on “HIMCARE Enrollment” on the homepage.
- Choose “New Registration” and fill out the application form with your details and family member information.
- Upload scanned copies of the required documents as per your eligibility category. (Refer to my previous response for document details)
- Submit the application form and wait for processing.
Offline:
- Visit your nearest Lok Mitra Kendra (LMK) or Common Service Center (CSC).
- Inform them about your intention to apply for HP Him Care Yojana.
- They will provide you with an application form and assist you in filling it out.
- Submit the completed form along with the required documents at the LMK/CSC.
Steps to Check Him Care Enrollment Status:
- Visit the official website of Himachal Pradesh Health Insurance Scheme Society.
- Click on the tab “Him Care Enrollment”.
- Click on the link “Him Care Enrollment Status”.
- Enter your reference number or ration card number.
- Click on “Search”.
- The enrollment status will be displayed on the screen.
To download the Him Care Health Card:
- Visit the official website of Him Care Yojana.
- On the homepage, click on the “Download Him Care Card” option.
- Enter your URN number, Aadhaar number, or ration card number and click on the “Search” button.
- The information for your Him Care Card will be displayed and you can download or print it.
To renew the Him Care Health Card:
- Visit the official website of Him Care Yojana.
- On the homepage, click on the “Renewal of Card” option.
- Enter your URN number and click on the “Search” button.
- You can renew your card online from this page.
To check the balance of your Him Care Health Card:
- Visit the official website of Him Care Yojana.
- On the homepage, click on the “check card balance” option.
- Select the district and specialty and click on the “Search” button.
- A list of contracted hospitals in the selected district and specialty will be displayed.
To view the Him Care Hospital List:
- Visit the official website of Him Care Yojana.
- On the homepage, click on the “Check Card Balance” option.
- Enter your URN number and click on the “Search” button.
- The balance amount of your Him Care Card will be displayed.
To add a family member to Him Care, follow these steps:
- Visit the official website of Him Care Yojana.
- On the home page, click on the “Him Care Enrollment” tab.
- Select the “Add Family Member Him Care” option.
- Enter your Him Care number and click the “Search” button.
- Once your Him Care card is displayed, click on the “Add Family Member” link.
- Fill in the required information in the form that appears.
- Submit the form by clicking the “Submit” button.
