Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Dr. Ambedkar Medhavi Chattar Sansodhit Yojana, students must fulfill the following criteria:

1. Students must belong to Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, Nomadic, DNTs, Semi-Nomadic, Vimukt Jaati, and Tapriwas Jaati.
2. For students belonging to these categories, a minimum percentage of marks is required to be eligible for the scholarship. For example, for students of Backward Classes Block ‘A,’ a minimum of 70% in matriculation is required (60% for rural areas).
3. Students must be enrolled in classes from the 11th to the postgraduate level.

The Dr. Ambedkar Medhavi Chattar Sansodhit Yojana offers the following benefits:

1. Meritorious students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, Nomadic, DNTs, Semi-Nomadic, Vimukt Jaati, and Tapriwas Jaati are awarded scholarships ranging from Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,000 per annum.
2. For students of Backward Classes Block ‘A’ and ‘B,’ scholarships of Rs 8,000 per annum are awarded for those who have qualified in the metric examination.
3. Meritorious students from other social classes are also given scholarships at par with students of Backward Classes Block ‘B.’
