Eligibility criteria
- Indian national with more than 40% disability certified by the competent authority.
- Studying from Class 11 to post-graduation in a UGC/AICTE-recognized university.
- Annual family income less than INR 2,50,000.
- Employed students meeting income criteria can apply.
- 50% of scholarships are reserved for female candidates.
Selection Procedure
- Candidates check eligibility and apply through the online portal on the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities website.
- Duly filled application form (from www.disabilityaffairs.gov.in) and necessary documents are sent to the Department.
- Employed candidates need a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer.
- The Screening Committee will review applications according to the Scheme guidelines.
- Eligible candidates shortlisted by the Screening Committee will proceed to the next stage.
- Requests for changing the chosen Institution/College/University will not be entertained at any stage.
- Awardees wishing to change the course or university can apply again.
