e-Shram Card Portal

About

The e-Shram Card Portal is an online platform launched by the Ministry of Labour and Employment to create a national database of unorganized workers, including migrant workers, gig and platform workers, and construction workers. The portal aims to provide social security benefits and services to employees in the unorganized sector and regulate the terms and conditions of their employment. To access benefits and services provided by the government, employees in the unorganized sector can register on the e-Shram portal and download their e-Shram card.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be between the ages of 16 and 59.
  • The applicant must be an employee in the unorganized sector who is not a member of EPFO or ESIC.
  • The applicant must have an Aadhaar number, a bank account number, and a cellphone number that is connected to their Aadhaar.
  • The applicant should be a citizen of India and should have all the required documents
  • The applicant should be able to provide the details of the employer and the establishment where they are working
  • The applicant should be able to provide details of their salary, the number of working days, and other employment-related information

  • Insurance: Employees can register for various insurance schemes such as life insurance, accidental insurance, and medical insurance.
  • Pension: Employees can register for pension schemes such as the National Pension System (NPS) and the Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
  • Provident Fund: Employees can register for the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) scheme.
  • Skill Development: Employees can register for skill development programs and training opportunities.
  • Health and Wellness: Employees can access information and resources related to health and wellness, such as information on occupational hazards, safe working conditions, and preventive measures.

Welfare Scheme Under This Pogramme

The e-Shram Portal offers a variety of social welfare programs for workers in the unorganized sector. These programs are designed to provide financial security and stability to workers who are not covered by other schemes.

Public Distribution System (PDS)

This scheme provides access to food grains and other essential commodities at subsidised rates for eligible individuals.

Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan (PM-SYM) Pension Yojana:

This scheme provides pension to unorganized sector workers such as shopkeepers, traders, and self-employed individuals.

Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY):

This scheme provides life insurance coverage to individuals who are between 18 and 50 years of age.

Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY):

This scheme provides accidental death and disability coverage to individuals who are between 18 and 70 years of age.

Atal Pension Yojna:

This scheme provides a pension to individuals who are between 18 and 40 years of age.

Health Insurance Scheme for Weavers (HIS):

  • Aadhaar Card: A copy of the employee’s Aadhaar card is required to verify their identity.
  • Bank Account: Employee’s bank account number, IFS code, name and account type
  • Phone Number: The employee’s phone number that is linked to their Aadhaar card.
  • Employment Details: Employee’s employer and establishment details, salary, number of working days, and other employment-related information.
  • Passport Size Photo: Employee’s recent passport size photo

How To Apply

Self Registration Process:

Download e-Shram Card:

  • Click ‘Already Registered’ > ‘Update/Download UAN Card’
  • Enter UAN number, DOB, captcha, and OTP
  • Verify and submit; download e-Shram card

Payment Status Check:

  • Visit e-Shram portal
  • Click ‘E-Aadhaar Card Beneficiary Status Check’
  • Enter e-Shram card number, UAN, or Aadhar card
  • Check e-Shram payment status
