Skill development is, therefore, a critical priority for the country, and the government has launched several schemes and initiatives in this direction. One such scheme is the Agnipath Yojana, which aims to empower the youth through skill development.

Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for the Agnipath Yojana are as follows:

  1. The scheme is open to Indian citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
  2. The applicant should have a minimum educational qualification of 10th standard.
  3. The applicant should not be a recipient of any other government-sponsored skill development program.

  • Citizenship: Only Indian citizens are eligible for the scheme.
  • Age: For the 2022 intake, applicants must be between 17.5 and 23 years old. Subsequent intakes require candidates to be between 17.5 and 21 years old.
  • Education (Indian Navy): Agniveer SSR applicants need a 10+2 qualification with Mathematics, Physics, and one of Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science from a recognized board. Agniveer MR applicants need to pass the Matriculation Examination from recognized boards.
  • Physical Standards: Applicants must meet the physical standards set by the Indian Armed Forces, including height, weight, chest measurement, and vision requirements.
  • Medical Standards: Applicants must meet the medical standards set by the Indian Armed Forces, including physical and mental health, hearing, and dental health.
  • Fitness: Applicants must be physically and mentally fit to undergo training and perform required duties.
  • No Criminal Record: Applicants must not have any criminal record or pending criminal cases.
  • Good Character: Applicants must have a good character, including being honest, trustworthy, and having a good reputation in their community.

Required documents

The following documents are required to apply for the Agnipath Yojana:

  • Valid AADHAAR card for identity proof.
  • Proof of address (utility bill, rental agreement, etc.).
  • Copy of highest educational qualifications (degree certificate, mark sheet, etc.).
  • Valid medical certificate indicating medical category.
  • Scanned passport size photo (jpg format, 10 Kb to 20 Kb).
  • Scanned photo of signature (jpg format, 5 Kb to 10 Kb).
  • Domicile certificate to establish residency.
  • Written pledge confirming no involvement in violent protests against the Agnipath scheme.

How to apply

The application process for the Agnipath Yojana is as follows:

  • Click on the option of “Agniveer Recruitment” available in the menu on the homepage of the website.
  • Read all the guidelines and information related to Agniveer recruitment available on the webpage.
  • After reading the guidelines, tick the checkbox and proceed to the application form.
  • Fill in all the required information asked in the form accurately.
  • Upload all the necessary documents in the designated format and size as per the guidelines provided.
  • Once you have entered all the details and uploaded the necessary documents, click on the submit button to complete the application process.
  • Review all the information provided in the application form before submitting it to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Upon successful submission, take a printout of the application form for future reference and use.

The candidates will be recruited as per the existing pattern of selection into the Armed Forces.
